How can I help raise money?

We have two ways to raise money for the Waddle. One is by using the downloadable donation form and collect checks and or cash.

Here’s what you do:

  1. Sign up supporters and list the amount they pledge on the form. Collect all donations before the event.
  2. Make checks payable to "HHBR." (We will be able to take Mastercard and Visa from people who attend the event.)
  3. On the day of the Waddle bring the completed donation form and your contributions to the registration table.

The other way is to set up your own online donation page with Firstgiving. It's quick, it's easy and it's secure. Simply go to http://www.firstgiving.com/HHBR and follow the directions. You can personalize your page, put your own pictures on it and even manage your email addresses so you can send it to everyone.

General Waddle Information: The Great Central Texas Waddle is our annual fundraiser. We ask basset owners to gather donations for each block their basset waddles. The donations you collect are your "entry fee" for the Waddle and After Parade Activities. A minimum $35 donation will be asked at registration. We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation. Every donation is tax deductible and goes toward the care of rescued basset hounds. There will be prizes for the top three money raisers.
Whether they walk or ride each basset will finish. The parade is 10 or so blocks - approximately one mile. We will have water available for the dogs at the registration area and in the Fair Grounds area where we will be after the parade.
The After Parade Activities this year include the Great Basset Derby – the Run for the Treats!! We will also have other games and contests.
Parking will be at the Patterson Civic Center and registration begins at 8:30 a.m. We will shuttle our Waddlers from registration to the line-up position. The first shuttle will leave the Patterson Center at 8:45 a.m. Line up begins at 9:00 a.m. and the parade itself begins at 10:00 a.m. We have been well received by the people the last two years; they came off the curbs to pet those lovable, floppy-eared dogs.
After the parade we will enter the Fair Grounds (which is next to the Patterson Civic Center where we registered and parked) and spend the afternoon having fun as only bassets and their owners can. You will want to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit on. We will have the Derby, contests and time to just sit and talk about our favorite topic – our beloved bassets. And don't forget the Great Waddle Raffle, all kinds of bassety stuff and non-bassety stuff will be available.
People food and drink will be available at the food booths located on the Fair Grounds. And there are all sorts of things to see and do.
